This study explored the relationship between Meaning of Work (MOW) in relation to the variables of age, cultural orientation, as well as the combined effect of age and cultural orientation. This study was conducted among 380 individuals in the form of an online survey. The survey to collect data for the study was hosted on www.qualtrics.com and a survey link was created. California State University San Bernardino's Sona-Systems (a research management system) was utilized to recruit students for the study and to award extra credit for research participation.

The purpose of this research project was to gather the perceptions of mental health therapists regarding the effectiveness of providing school-based services to children and adolescents in grades K-12. The methodology used in this study included face-to-face interviews with fourteen mental health therapists from diverse educational backgrounds and various fields of practice.

The purpose of this study was to test specific hypotheses based on the Young Schema Model (YSM). In this model, poor parenting and traumatic events early in life result in maladaptive behaviors in adulthood. The present study tests the specific prediction that permissive parenting will have an indirect effect to increase procrastination by way of the intervening variables of entitlement/grandiosity and insufficient self-control/self-discipline cognitive schemas.

The purpose of this study was to examine the psychological benefits derived from perceiving one's social group as having historical and temporal endurance (i.e., backward and forward continuity). The study found that Mexican Americans who perceive their group as having cultural perseverance not only derive psychological benefits (i.e., enhanced individual and collective self-esteem), but these beliefs can have even greater psychological benefits than other forms of ethnic identification.

The present study evaluated the relationship between domains of family functioning and maternal stress in families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and families of typically developing (TD) children. The ASD group consisted of parents of children with an ASD diagnosis currently receiving services at an on-campus center and the community group consisted of parents of TD children. The purpose of this study was to reexamine the Goldberg Paradigm and the Gender Role Congruity Theory in the academic setting. The present study was interested in examining the attitudes of both male and female evaluators in the college setting. The presented study also predicted that the self-evaluations of the participants would vary due to the application they evaluated. The study manipulated gender and major (math, business, English literature, and art) as independent variables in the mock applications. Data was collected from undergraduate students. After reading the mock applications, participants would complete a survey.

The current study predicted that positive couple rituals would be positively associated with relationship satisfaction, commitment, and dyadic adjustment, whereas negative couple rituals were expected to exhibit a negative association with these outcome variables. Data for this study were collected online in 2009. This project analyzes data from 35 undercover teams implemented by a guidance counselor at Edgewater College, a high school in a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. The author explores the nature of bullying according to the students reporting it. The findings are part of a larger project designed to examine the impact and effectiveness of an anti-bullying approach called an "undercover anti-bullying team."

This study seeks to look at the impact of dispositional factors, specifically the Big 5 personality traits, on psychological contracts. Using a series of multiple regressions and moderated linear regressions, this study analyzed the predictive value of personality traits on psychological contract type, breach and violation, and whether exchange or creditor ideologies moderate these relationships. This study consisted of 223 adult, full-time employees who worked at least 30 hours per week and had been with their current organization for at least 6 months. The sample observed and analyzed were recruited through online requests via social networking websites and via email.

The purpose of this project was to explore parental self-efficacy among parents of children with autism receiving home-based Applied Behavioral Analysis (A.B.A.) treatment. The purpose of this study was to expand on the definition of the means efficacy construct and its relationship to task-specific self-efficacy. The current research has three studies: assesssing quality means efficacy from a self-report method, study two assessing quality means efficacy from a self-report method, and study three comparing quality and quantity means efficacy to determine which would be a better predictor of confidence in various tasks.

This study investigated responsibility attributions for a partner's emotional infidelity and for a partner's sexual infidelity, and the likelyhood that the victim or partner would end the relationship. This study found a significant relationship between responsibility attributions for a romantic partner's unfaithfulness and the likelihood the relationship would end: the stronger the attributions of personal responsibility the more likely the relationship would dissolve.

The present research suggests that euphemistic labeling and level of victim provocation may be successful in altering attributions of blame in domestic violence cases, and that these factors may be processed differently by men and women. This research highlights the importance of message framing and how it affects people's perception of dire events.

The primary purpose of this study was to examine superior-subordinate dyads which violate relational norms and produce status inconsistency. Specifically, within the context of supervisor age and education, occupational norms suggest that employees expect their supervisor to be older and have a higher level of education. While it is illegal to discriminate against a job applicant for their age or gender, screening networking sites before hiring not only makes these factors salient, but may also provide information on more justifiable reasons for refusing to hire an applicant. Tattoos are one such potential reason and the stigma is especially detrimental to women. The purpose of this study is to examine how the age, gender, and tattoo stigma affect perceptions of a job applicant.
