Social Media: Are You Addicted? Examining The Role Of Social Media Platforms On Life Satisfaction, Personality And Generation, Alexzander Ponce

The rise of social media has led to an increase in social media use and social media addiction. Research has found that social media addiction is influenced by various factors, and this study looks to examine the relation between social media addiction and users' life satisfaction, personality type and age group; and whether the type of social media platform moderates this relationship. This study dispersed survey questionnaires and conducted an ANCOVA to analyze the results. Results found that life satisfaction and social media addiction are negatively related, but the negative relation is larger for Twitter users. Results also found a …

The literature on rigidity reveals a concentration in two fairly distinct areas: that of problem solving for cognitive rigidity) and motor rigidity. The early investigators felt that assessing these peripheral response mechanism would give a measure of the deeper, central personality mechanism that affects all of behavior. However, such an assumption was highly questionable and based more on analogical reasoning than on empirical evidence. It was Cattel who first pointed out that assuming motor rigidity "extends also through all dissappontement to feel or think perseveratively is a speculation undertaken at one's own risk" (1946, p. 233). The purpose of this investigation is (1) to determine whether o:r not the child's percept of the physical structure of each "COPPI" picture is congruent with that intended by the authors, and (2) to determine whether the degree of "meaning" the child finds in the pictures significantly corresponds to the categorization specified by the authors.

The problem of the thesis was as follows: On a selected group of children, to what extent are differences between scores of verbal and performance intelligence tests useful as group and individual measures of adjustment? Adjustment was measured by A Test of Personality Adjustment by Carl Rogers. Verbal and performance intelligence were measured by the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children. Differences between scores of verbal and performance tests were measured by a specified criterion, disparity. The problem, findings, and interpretations were limited to these criteria.

It is the purpose of the present thesis to determine the adjustment of a sampling of correspondence club members. The hypothesis is that the social adjustment of these individuals is inferior to that of the individuals used in two personality inventories. In addition, answers to these questions are sought:
- Is there a common need or problem that motivates these men and women to seek companionship through correspondence agencies?
- What is their age, sex, cultural and geographical background?
