The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between child emotional abuse, social support, and self-esteem and current posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms. Specifically, the role of social support and self-esteem in the relationship between child emotional abuse and current PTSD was explored, after taking into account demographic variables and other types of abuse.
