Abstract

Background: Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) are the most common yet completely preventable cause of mental disability in the western world.

Objective: The purpose of this integrative literature review is to examine and identify the common elements among varying interventions for FASD prevention that have demonstrated effectiveness for reducing the risk of FASD to better understand what defining features may contribute to the efficacy of the interventions.

Abstract

Background: Individuals struggling with depression differ from those without depression in their cognitive responses to life events. In spite of the prevalence of depression among college students, there are limited studies available to gain a comprehensive understanding of the cognitive responses associated with depression in this specific population.

Abstract

Background: Pediatric intensive care unit psychosis is a serious disorder where patients experience anxiety, hallucinations, delirium, and other symptoms, setting them back in their recovery process during their hospital stay.

Purpose: This study is an integrative literature review aimed at the use of evidence based practices to establish the most effective solution in preventing ICU psychosis in pediatric patients, and discovering if parental presence is a factor to successful recovery.
