BIO 140 Arboretum Project

In this semester my class and I in Biology Lab 140 chose one tree to document. The tree that I chose was the False Cypress-Hinoki. This tree was located in front of Misto Gatehouse. Every week I would take pictures of my tree and document changes I had noticed. Throughout the class I was able to see the changes that occurred to my tree.

This edition of the 2021 Crop Sowing Guide includes the major crops grown in WA - wheat, barley, canola, oat, lupins and pulses. The publication aims to provide information to support growers with decisions on the best choice of variety for each of the major crops for the upcoming season. The lupin and pulse sections also include an agronomy guide summary to support management decisions required for these high-valued crops. Market feedback for barley has been provided by GIWA to help with the decision on what to grow.

This dataset encompasses information following the collection of soil from underneath cut and treated Callery pear stems and untreated Callery pear trees. Soil was assessed for moisture, pH, and enzyme activities.

Google Map’s algorithm is convinced that the Tallgrass Prairie Center is a museum, but we have no exhibits or regular tours. When we host the occasional class field trip, we temporarily resemble a nature center. The seminars and conferences we hold wouldn’t be out of place coming from a nonprofit conservation organization. We’re proud to be a part of UNI’s College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences, but we are not an academic department. When UNI students use our facilities for research, we function as a university field station. In the summer, the seed production plots look like a flower farm. …

Plant Diseases Impacting Oaten Hay Production In Australia - A Review, Kylie Chambers, Geoff J. Thomas

In Australia, there are a range of fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens that infect oats, impacting on yield and quality of grain and hay crops. The overall impact of these diseases on oaten hay production is not well researched or understood, especially compared to that of other cereal crops. Export hay is evaluated on physical qualities such as stem thickness and greenness and nutritional qualities including water-soluble carbohydrates, neutral detergent fibre, acid detergent fibre and dry matter digestibility. The colour/ greenness of oaten hay can be reduced by disease lesions, chlorosis and saphrophytic fungi growing on dead tissue all of …

This dataset encompasses information related to predictors of seed germination from the species Carya laciniosa, Juglans cinerea, and Quercus rubra. Seed sizes were recorded prior to incubation in sand, vermiculite, or without media. Seeds were then germinated with time to germination recorded in this dataset.
