International Journal of Exercise Science

International Journal of Exercise Science 12(4): 1346-1354, 2019. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of three months of neuromotor fitness on body composition and physical performance in untrained women. Nine untrained women (age: 38.1 ± 6.9 years; total body mass: 79.3 ± 10.7 kg; height: 161.5 ± 3.9 cm; body mass index: 30.4 ± 4.1) participated in the present study. Subjects attended the laboratory on twenty-seven occasions during a three-month period at least forty-eight hours in between sessions. Sessions 1 and 2 were used to measure morphology and body composition, and to familiarize all subjects with …

Effect Of Capris In Validity Of Air-Displacement Plethysmography In Female College Students, Sydney Haynes, Joshua Miller, Kyle Susa

International Journal of Exercise Science

International Journal of Exercise Science 12(4): 1315-1321, 2019. Body composition testing is completed in human performance laboratories, local health clubs, and many other locations each day. Maintaining proper technique is required to make sure the results are reliable and valid. The purpose of this study was to compare traditional clothing (spandex shorts and sports bra) and non-traditional clothing (Capri-length spandex pants and sports bra) in females while utilizing the Bod Pod to determine body composition. Nineteen female participants ages 18 - 25 years (Mage = 21.2 years) performed two Bod Pod tests either wearing traditional or non-traditional clothing when …

Effects Of Synchronous And Asynchronous Music During High Intensity Training On Obesity And Metabolic Health In Singapore Women, Dd Salle, Ms Aman, Mn Hashim, Fy Loo, T Tran

International Journal of Exercise Science

International Journal of Exercise Science 12(5): 1254-1264, 2019. Evidence suggests that high intensity exercise aided by musicrenders positive results in health related fitness components. However, less is known about the influence synchronous and asynchronous music may have on outcomes in overweight and obese women.A twelve-week, randomized-controlled trial was conducted using premenopausal overweight/obese (BMI > 24.9 kg/m2) adult Singapore women (n = 92) divided into three groups (exercise with synchronous, asynchronous, and no music, respectively). Pre-post clinical examinations, anthropometric, and fitness evaluations were conducted. Statistical analyses revealed that physical activity was effective in all groups with music or non-music. Body …
