Formation Of Permafrost And Its Influence On Natural Gas Hydrate Accumulation In Muli Region, Qinghai Province, Wang Liping, Zhu Yinghao, Li Ning, Xu Shuanhai, Tian Yanzhe, Liu Naifei, Wang Wenli

Coal Geology & Exploration

The characteristics of the existing permafrost and natural gas hydrates were summarized and analyzed by studying the natural gas hydrate formation in Muli Region, Qinghai Province. On the basis of the evidence of the Quaternary climate survey and the available geological exploration data on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, FLAC3D was used to simulate and calculate the formation of permafrost. The calculation results show that the existing permafrost probably formed during the late Holocene Neoglacial(4 000-3 000 to 1 000 a BP), and a stable boundary at bottom of the permafrost layer formed after about 170 a of cooling at a …

Use Of Ar To Bring Medical Simulation To Life, Zhenhua Yu, Richard L. Doolittle, Caroline J. Easton

Frameless

Use of simulation facilities and equipment in medical training has become the fabric of curricula across nearly all professions, most notably medical school, nursing, and related medical sciences programs. The gold standard for simulators is SimMan3G, Laerdal Inc., which offers a static electronic mannequin that affords the opportunity to create disease states, signs/symptoms, and real physiological/vital sign data complemented by voice interactions between faculty (within the control room) and student. All sessions are videotaped and, through a 15-30 minute debriefing, students exchange thoughts and impressions with faculty and engage in a deep reflective learning experience. The other option for medical …

Coordinate conversion is achieved through binocular vision to obtain three-dimensional information of oral cavity position and face normal vector. The geometric method is introduced into the kinematics calculation, and the closed solution of the inverse kinematics is obtained. The correctness is verified by the Maltab programming and the introduction of numerical values. Five-degree polynomial motion planning is performed …

Simulation Of Two Electrode Reactions Coupled By The Chemical Reaction, Milivoj Lovric Jan 2022

Simulation Of Two Electrode Reactions Coupled By The Chemical Reaction, Milivoj Lovric

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A model of an ECE mechanism consisting of two reversible electrode reactions coupled by the kinetically controlled, second order, reversible chemical reaction is developed for the staircase cyclic voltammetry on the rotating disk electrode. The relationship between the limiting current of the second wave and the rate constant of chemical reaction is investigated. The concentration of electroinactive component of the forward reaction influences the half-wave potential of the first wave and the limiting current of the second wave. The responses of the mechanisms with reversible and irreversible chemical reactions are compared.

Overview On Gplates: Focus On Plate Reconstruction, Shatavisa Chatterjee, Soumyajit Mukherjee

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Plate tectonic reconstructions have been employed in geosciences since 1970s, in the context of hydrocarbon exploration, regional geology and paleobiology. Such studies have given valuable inputs for climate and geodynamic computations, present-day mantle structure, models of plate motion, and the interpretation of the drift of hotspots, true polar wander (TPW), sea level and stratigraphic signals. However, geodynamic models generated in the past by incorporating global plate tectonic reconstructions have limitations. To overcome this, GPlates software brings forward a new era of interactive plate tectonic reconstruction software integrated with GIS databases that incorporates a wide variety of geological and geophysical data. …
