Spectral properties of the equation l (f ) - λrf = 0 with an indefinite weight func­tion r are studied in L_I²rl . The main tool is the theory of definitizable operators in Krein spaces. Under special assumptions on the weight function, for the operator associated with the problem, the regularity of the critical point infinity is proved. Some relations to full- and half-range expansions are indicated.
