The difficulties offshore wind leaders have in managing operations and maintenance (O&M) costs threaten the ability to operate offshore wind farms profitably, diversify the energy supply, and reduce dependence on imported fuels. Grounded in the frameworks of Lean Six Sigma and McKinsey 7-S, the purpose of this qualitative multi-case study was to explore offshore wind farm leaders’ strategies to manage O&M costs in Europe. Business and IT leaders in financial services are concerned with the limited benefits they are reaping from information technology outsourcing (ITO) projects, despite continued heavy investments in ITO. Grounded in the transaction cost, agency, and resource-based view theories, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine the relationship between vendor/client complementarity, vendor technology maturity, vendor financial stability, and ITO success. Undergraduate calculus is a foundational mathematics sequence that previews the sophistication students will need to succeed in higher-level courses. However, students often struggle with concepts in calculus because they are more abstract and visual than those in other foundational mathematics courses. Additionally, women continue to be underrepresented in the STEM fields. This study builds on previous work indicating a malleability in spatial ability by testing whether improvement occurs in students’ spatial and mathematics ability after implementing spatial training in calculus courses.
