The Summit 7.5-minute quadrangle is located south of Louisville and west of Elizabethtown along the boundary between Hardin and Grayson Counties and within the Mississippian Plateau physiographic region (McDowell, 1986). Topography is characterized by the low relief Pennyroyal region that sits at elevations between 560 to 650 ft above sea level, the low relief Mammoth Cave plateau at elevations between 750 to 900 ft, and the steep Dripping Springs escarpment that separates the two plains. Moore (1964) mapped the bedrock geology of the quadrangle, which was later digitized by Conley (2002). Mississippian bedrock is exposed throughout the quadrangle and is …

Nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) were measured at levels of approximately 7.5 m, 3 m, and 0.5 m above the surface snowpack at Summit, Greenland from July 2008 to July 2010, respectively, with two sets of instrument systems. Instrument I measured NO and NO₂ at levels of 3 m and 0.5 m with two inlets, and instrument II measured NO and NO₂ at a level of 7.5 m plus total reactive nitrogen oxides (NO_y) at the same level with one inlet. This work presents a 1-D process scale model used to investigate the chemical dynamics and temporal variability of nitrogen oxides (NO_x) and ozone (O₃) within and above snowpack at Summit, Greenland for March-May 2009 and estimates surface exchange of NO_x between the snowpack and surface layer in April-May 2009. The model assumes the surface of snowflakes have a Liquid Like Layer (LLL) where aqueous chemistry occurs and interacts with the interstitial air of the snowpack. The characteristics of a sandstone reservoir of Silurian age (the "Clinton interval") were analyzed using 382 geophysical well logs from the Dominion Gas storage field located in Stark and Summit Counties, Ohio. These sandstones have long been identified by the informal drillers' terms, White, Red, and Stray Clinton. Gamma ray logs were used to analyze the distribution of net stand thickness and its relation to initial production through the construction of isopach and net sand isolith maps. Phosphate deposits in the western United States have been the subject of considerable discussion in the last decade, and during the last few years much interest has been aroused in them. Phosphate was first discovered in this area in 1889, but it was not until 1906 that the United States Government took active interest in the study of these deposits. The investigation by the government of the occurrence of western phosphate was begun by Weeks and Ferrier (10), and later carried on by others.
