'l'he construction of several large reservoirs in the Midwest has brought about the growth of innumerable ancillary developments. The increased number of new homes, located adjacent to the reservoirs represents a growing component of our settlement fabric. Geographers have done studies on recreational developments, (Wolfe, Roy L., "Summer Cottages in Ontario"1 Howes, Robert· M., "Recreational Opportunities Arising from Reservoir Construction,"2) but little published investigation has been done in the Kansas, or Nebraska area.
