In this work we review the concept of motivation and we stress the differences between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. In the process we introduce the variables that have an impact on work motivation and the techniques used for its measurement. Below you will find an original model, used to measure extrinsic motivation. The fieldwork was carried out on a wide selection of professors at the following European universities: Freie Universität and Humboldt Universität in Germany, and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Spain, from March 2013 to August 2013.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Thirty years ago, Dustin and McAvoy (1984) published an essay in Environmental Ethics titled “Toward Environmental Eolithism.” The article compared and contrasted two distinct orientations to environmental planning and management: the design mentality and the eolithic mentality. The authors concluded that the more popular design mentality lacked obscure eolithic mentality was a superior orientation to environmental planning and management. Environmental Ethics and then discuss how an eolithic perspective might complement the strategic planning process. This report explores the nature and extent of women empowerment in the context of low economic development and participation & performance of women representatives in Gram Panchayats. While investigating the relationship of participation and performance of elected women members and that of gender and social equality with women empowerment in the region, it also analyzes blocks that inhibit women empowerment, need for capacity building trainings for women members, and value addition by parallel village bodies enabling factors.

Objective: This study examined the effectiveness of Marlatt's cognitive-behavioral model on increasing self-efficacy in opiate-dependents. Materials & Methods: In a pilot project, 30 opiate-dependent clients of addiction clinics in Khorramabad were randomly assigned to study and control groups. The study group went through 12 sessions of cognitive behavioral therapy; an overall 24 hours. The control group did not receive any special treatment. All the participants completed the self-efficacy questionnaire at the beginning and end of treatment. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze data. Results: Findings showed significant differences between the two groups after intervention. Conclusions: According to the findings …

This study aims to understand the mechanisms of emergency response network evolution by quantitatively examining the link formation pattern among participants involved in a real emergency collaboration network. This is achieved by identifying the participants’ characteristics which can affect forming new links over time. The result indicates the existence of cumulative advantage process, where highly-connected participants gain more new links over time. It also reveals the structural position of participants involved in a response network, i.e. brokering position, affects their number of future links.
