She relates how she became convinced that high value should be placed on assessment. She suggests several ways for instilling confidence in team members. The author discusses a proactive library recruitment strategy based on his experience at Kansas State University Libraries. He identifies two main areas of concern in hiring librarians including the length of the hiring process and the quality of candidates. He also cites the major elements of a proactive library recruitment strategy such as recruiting the right talent and creating a new recruitment team.

The Cost Of Omitting Credit Channel In Dsge Model, Takeshi Yagihashi

This paper discusses whether the parameter invariance problem as in Lucas (1976) applies to the standard new Keynesian DSGE model when the credit channel is left out from its structure. We simulate a financial crisis in which the credit market friction is positive and we shift the monetary policy to stimulate the economy. We evaluate the cost of omitting the credit channel by examining the changes of the estimated model parameters and by using policy outcomes. We find that although some parameters incur nontrivial changes after the policy shift, overall these parameter changes have little impact on the conduct of …

The historical roots of the Emergency Management concept in the U.S. date back to 19th century. As disasters occurred, policies relating to disaster response have been developed, and many statuary provisions, including several Federal Disaster Relief Acts, conceptually established the framework of Emergency Management. In 1979, with the foundation of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), disaster relief efforts were finally institutionalized, and the federal government acknowledged that Emergency Management included mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery activities as abbreviated 'MPRR.'

The main goal of the research was to identify the relationships that the internal research team environment and external coaching variables had with the degree of shared leadership in the context of Six Sigma teams from the North Shore LIJ Health System. Furthermore, the research ascertained the relationships that these variables had with two performance metrics: a team's ability to complete project deliverables and satisfy customer's requirements. This research also sought to understand additional factors that affected the five variables.
