Background/aim: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of urinary incontinence and to evaluate the relationship between urinary incontinence and quality of life in married women. Materials and methods: This is a cross-sectional study conducted among married women aged 20-49 years living in the vicinity of the Çökekler Community Clinic (Family Health Center) in Sakarya, Turkey, from 1 November 2011 to 15 April 2012. Background/aim: This study was conducted to determine the effect of transtheoretical model (TTM)-based individual counseling, training, and a 6-month follow-up on smoking cessation in adult women. Materials and methods: We carried out this randomized controlled trial in Konya, Turkey. Female subjects were randomly assigned into groups in a 1:1 ratio using block randomization, block size 3 × 3, divided by stages (precontemplation, contemplation, and preparation) and age (20-29, 30-39, and 40-49 years). To evaluate the health-related quality of life of women living in Van city center by SF-36 and its association with the women's characteristics. Materials and methods: The women (n = 1527) answered a questionnaire through a face-to-face interview, and some measurements were made. The variations of physical component score (PCS) and mental component score (MCS) of SF-36 were investigated by non-parametric tests, and by linear regression analysis. Aim: To investigate the prevalence of the physical and sexual abuse of women before and during pregnancy, and to determine whether pregnancy affected the abuse of women. Materials and Methods: This study was performed at a state hospital in the Turkish city of Trabzon and included 762 women that gave birth between July and September 2004. A questionnaire was administered during a face-to-face interview to collect data on sociodemographic factors, exposure to abuse before and during pregnancy, and the women´s post-abuse attitudes. The aim of this study is to evaluate factors influencing utilization of health services by women aged 15 years and older having any health symptoms within the previous 15 days in a city center located in the eastern part of Turkey. In this cross-sectional study, subjects (1,000 households) were sampled from the "city-information-system" based on household satellite photographs of the city. Cardiovascular disease is progressively becoming a major cause of morbidity and mortality in women generally after menopause. In contrast to this general conception, the coronary morbidity and mortality in premenopausal Turkish women approaches that of Turkish men. In this study, our aim was to detect the prevalence of risk factors for coronary heart disease (CHD) among 200 women aged 30 or over who live in the Köstence area and to inform individuals presenting with CHD risk factors. Over the past decade, there has been considerable growth in interest in the application of stress management techniques for the preparation of patients needing to undergo noxious medical procedures. Here, we studied state-trait anxiety in women awaiting three different radiological examinations; abdominal ultrasonography, mammography, and hysterosalpingography, which involved various degrees of intrusiveness, and low, intermediate, and high levels of pain and physical/emotional discomfort respectively.
