Objective The aim of this work was to study paroxonase 1-L55M gene polymorphisms in Behcet's disease (BD) and its relation to clinical manifestations. Background BD is a type of vasculitis characterized by recurrent orogenital ulcers, relapsing uveitis, and skin, articular, vascular, neurologic, and gastrointestinal manifestations. Genetic, environmental, and immunological factors are involved in its pathogenesis.
