We surveyed infectious disease specialists about early coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination preparedness. Almost all responding institutions rated their facility's preparedness plan as either excellent or adequate. Vaccine hesitancy and concern about adverse reactions were the most commonly anticipated barriers to COVID-19 vaccination. Only 60% believed that COVID-19 vaccination should be mandatory.

Early clinical trials clearly demonstrated the superior efficacy of triple drug therapy with ivermectin plus DEC and albendazole (IDA) for clearing microfilaremia (Mf) in individuals with lymphatic filariasis (LF). Although these initial pharmacokinetic and efficacy studies were necessary first steps in the clinical development of IDA, they were not sufficient to justify policy changes necessary for widespread use of this new regimen by national filariasis elimination programs. Processes and procedures that led to the World Health Organization's (WHO) endorsement of IDA as a mass drug administration (MDA) regimen for LF are reviewed elsewhere in this Supplement. However, the "guideline review …

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether modified K-12 student quarantine policies that allow some students to continue in-person education during their quarantine period increase schoolwide SARS-CoV-2 transmission risk following the increase in cases in winter 2020-2021.

METHODS: We conducted a prospective cohort study of COVID-19 cases and close contacts among students and staff (n = 65,621) in 103 Missouri public schools. Participants were offered free, saliva-based RT-PCR testing. The projected number of school-based transmission events among untested close contacts was extrapolated from the percentage of events detected among tested asymptomatic close contacts and summed with the number of detected events for a …

Strategies For Effective Dissemination Of Research To United States Policymakers: A Systematic Review, Laura Ellen Ashcraft, Deirdre A Quinn, Ross C Brownson

BACKGROUND: Research has the potential to influence US social policy; however, existing research in this area lacks a coherent message. The Model for Dissemination of Research provides a framework through which to synthesize lessons learned from research to date on the process of translating research to US policymakers.

METHODS: The peer-reviewed and grey literature was systematically reviewed to understand common strategies for disseminating social policy research to policymakers in the United States. We searched Academic Search Premier, PolicyFile, SocINDEX, Social Work Abstracts, and Web of Science from January 1980 through December 2019. Articles were independently reviewed and thematically analyzed by …
