The purpose of this study was to observe and determine the effects of strenuous physical exertion on the engaged behavior of a select and small number of subjects identified as having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Participants were siblings identified as having ADHD. One was taking Ritalin, and the other was not. Both participated in early morning swim practice three days a week. Students were observed for the first hour of their academic classes on randomly selected days over a two month period. On-task behavior was timed and recorded.
