Influence Of The Margin Design On The Fracture Resistance Of Implant Supported Monolithic Zirconia Crowns, Camille Haddad, Ryan Harouny, Karim Corbani, Lara Nasr, Ronn Tassidis Jan 2023

Influence Of The Margin Design On The Fracture Resistance Of Implant Supported Monolithic Zirconia Crowns, Camille Haddad, Ryan Harouny, Karim Corbani, Lara Nasr, Ronn Tassidis

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

The purpose of this in vitro study was to test the influence of the margin design of implant supported monolithic zirconia crowns and test if monolithic zirconia crowns with extra fine finish line thickness cemented on zirconia implant abutments can bare the maximum masticatory forces on molars and hence be used in the posterior region. Fourteen identical monolithic zirconia crowns cemented on zirconia implant abutments mounted on titanium bases and fixed on implant replicas embedded in PMMA resin were divided into two groups: group I designed with a 0.5 mm CFL (CFL) and group II with a feather-edge finish line …

Internal Fit Of Lithium Disilicate And Resin Nano-Ceramic Endocrowns With Different Preparation Designs, Heba Darwish, Tarek Salah Morsi, Ayman Galal El Dimeery Sep 2020

Internal Fit Of Lithium Disilicate And Resin Nano-Ceramic Endocrowns With Different Preparation Designs, Heba Darwish, Tarek Salah Morsi, Ayman Galal El Dimeery

Future Dental Journal

Purpose: Investigation of different central cavity designs on internal fit of endocrowns fabricated from two materials. Materials and methods: Forty maxillary premolars were endodontically treated and divided into 8 groups [n ¼ 5]: LS10, LS6, LD10, LD6, ES10, ES6, ED10 and ED6 (“L” restored with Lava™ Ultimate [resin nano ceramic], “E” restored with IPS e.max® CAD [lithium disilicate], “S” shallow depth [3 mm], “D” extended depth [5 mm], “6”-degree and “10”-degree axial wall divergence). All restorations were fabricated using CEREC CAD/CAM system. Samples were tested for internal fit using CBCT imaging (Next Generation i-CAT scanner) before and after adaptation. Data …

Finishing Procedures Action On Mechanical Characteristics Of Pressed Ceramics, Mohamed Ahmed, Amina Mohammad Hamdy, Amr El-Etreby Sep 2020

Finishing Procedures Action On Mechanical Characteristics Of Pressed Ceramics, Mohamed Ahmed, Amina Mohammad Hamdy, Amr El-Etreby

Future Dental Journal

Objectives: The choice of material and sequence of finishing & polishing of pressed ceramics which are broadly used for indirect restorations applying different polishing methods on the glazed ceramic surfaces has not been agreed on yet so a comparison of different finishing protocols on the mechanical strength of pressed ceramics in a clinical simulating trial is of a paramount significance, in this study The effect of different grinding & finishing procedures on the biaxial flexural strength of pressed ceramics was evaluated. Material and methods: all ceramic Ips emax press discs were fabricated with a circular projection in the middle to …

Zirconia Based Ceramics, Some Clinical And Biological Aspects: Review, Osama Abd El-Ghany, Ashraf Husein Sherief Sep 2020

Zirconia Based Ceramics, Some Clinical And Biological Aspects: Review, Osama Abd El-Ghany, Ashraf Husein Sherief

Future Dental Journal

Improved material strength, enhanced esthethic and high biocompatibility give Zirconia ceramic a great possibility to be used for a wide range of promising clinical applications. This review presents the different types of zirconia materials available for dental application, the effect of machining procedures on these materials, the esthetic of zirconia ceramics and bonding of the veneering ceramics in addition to the biologic properties of these new materials.
