Correlation Between Gingival Redness And Oral Health Related Quality Of Life In A Group Of Egyptian Children At New Giza University, Fayrouz Saber, Manal Ahmed Al Sayed, Ola Moustafa Omar Jan 2024

Correlation Between Gingival Redness And Oral Health Related Quality Of Life In A Group Of Egyptian Children At New Giza University, Fayrouz Saber, Manal Ahmed Al Sayed, Ola Moustafa Omar

Future Dental Journal

Introduction: The concept of oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL) is of great significance in the three areas of dental health, in particular the clinical practice of dentistry, research, and education. The reported prevalence of gingivitis in various developed countries is considered high. This rate escalates with the increase in age, especially around puberty. There is evidence that gingivitis is associated with the children’s OHRQoL as there are common risk factors between gingivitis’ of adolescence and their consequent OHRQoL.

Aim: This study aims to evaluate the correlation between gingival redness as evaluated by digital photographs and oral health related …

Introduction: Antimicrobial resistance is one of the ten threats identified by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019, since it affects modern healthcare and the effective prevention and treatment of an ever-increasing range of infections. Recent estimates of the burden of antimicrobial resistance are very significant, with more than half a million cases of infection with selected antibiotic-resistant bacteria or new emerging resistant pathogens occurring in Europe; of note, data regarding antimicrobial resistance in low-income countries are largely unknown, increasing the overall risk of mortality, in particular in surgical procedures

Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the …

Comparative Evaluation Of Efficacy Of Topical Ozonated Olive Oil And Topical Chlorhexidine Gluconate In Management Of Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis., Prasanna Ravindra Sonar, Aarati Panchbhai, Anil Ghom, Sudhir Dole

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Aphthous stomatitis is also known as canker sores or aphthae. Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS), frequently manifests as superficial, oval, painful ulcers with a pseudomembranous base that is yellowish-gray and has an erythematous halo [1-2]. These uncomfortable lesions may have a significant impact on dental hygiene, speech, and eating. Hence, the lesions may have an even greater influence on living quality than only the discomfort they cause [3-5]. Even though the lesion normally heals on its own, the pain from the aphthae causes severe morbidity.

This disease entity is caused by multifactorial etiologies, which include inherited, environmental, infections caused by various …

Background: The need of more anchorage in the orthodontic daily practice has introduced the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADs). Cortical bone thickness has been one of the major factors on the success rate of the stability of TADs. Different vertical dimension patterns can be found among orthodontic patients with potentially variable cortical bone thickness. Aim of the study: to assess the cortical bone thickness in the posterior region of the mandible in relation to different vertical facial patterns using Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and to evaluate the progressive change in the thickness of cortical bone from 4,6 to 8 …

Abstract:

Background: The treatment choice in adults with skeletal class III malocclusion represents a challenging task for orthodontists, especially in borderline cases. With the growth spurt being surpassed, the clinician is left between two treatment options: orthodontic camouflage or orthognathic surgery. Around the years, many studies tried to uncover a guide model which enables practitioners to distinguish between skeletal class III that can be appropriately treated by orthodontics alone and those needing surgical intervention.

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Background: Gingival recession is a problem encountered daily in clinical practice, its etiology is often a multifactorial one. Surgical treatment is the only method to reverse this condition. Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of leukocytic platelet rich fibrins (L-PRF) versus subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) in the management of recession defects Miller’s class I or II (RT1) using the tunnel technique (TUN). Methods: 20 systemically healthy patients were allocated randomly to TUN with L-PRF (group A), and TUN with SCTG (group B). Probing depth, clinical attachment level, recession depth, width of keratinized tissue, gingival thickness, and recession esthetic score …
