Homoeopathic Medicines Modulate Inflammatory Functions And Adhesion Receptor Expression In Human Blood Cells: An In Vitro Study, Nibedita Dalpati, Shubham Kumar Rai, Divya Singh, Shiba Prasad Dash, Sukanti S. Sarangi, Mahabahu Nayak, Pranita P. Sarangi

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Background: Homoeopathic medicines are used extensively for the treatment of many human diseases and are shown to affect immune cell functions. However, our understanding of the immunomodulatory effects of such medicines and associated mechanisms of action remains limited. Objectives: The present study aims to investigate the immunomodulatory effects of Arsenic album, Rhus toxicodendron, Hepar sulphuris and Bryonia alba on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced peripheral blood neutrophils and monocytes. Materials and Methods: In this work, neutrophils and monocytes were treated with different homoeopathic dilutions of 30C potency separately, followed by stimulation with the LPS, to examine the immunomodulatory effects of these …

Management Of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease With Individualised Homoeopathic Medicine Natrum Muriaticum In Lm Potency: A Case Report, Lalit Tyagi, Shraddha Khanna

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Introduction: Pelvic inflammatory disease is a group of disorders that affects the female genital tract having varied presentation, ranging from asymptomatic to symptoms of reproductive disability, infertility, ectopic pregnancy, etc. With the homoeopathic treatment, promising results have been seen in research on various clinical disorders but there is paucity of research in the field of pelvic inflammatory disorders. A case of pelvic inflammatory disease, treated with individualized homoeopathic medicine is presented. Further research is needed to confirm the role of homoeopathy in pelvic inflammatory disease.

Role Of Homoeopathy In The Management Of Adhesive Capsulitis: A Pretest-Posttest Study, Gurudev Choubey, Laijun Nahar, Abhiram Banerjee, Varanasi Roja

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Background: Adhesive capsulitis (AC) is an insidious and painful stiffening of the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint, resulting in compromised functional ability and quality of life (QoL).

Objectives: Primary objective was to evaluate change in shoulder pain after individualised homoeopathy treatment for over 2 months. Secondary objective was to assess the change in the QoL and outcome related to impact on daily living (ORIDL).

Methods: A single-arm, pretest-posttest, clinical study on AC was conducted on 40 participants recruited from the outpatient clinic of rheumatological disorders at Clinical Research Unit (Homoeopathy), Siliguri, West Bengal, India. Medicines were prescribed on the …

Evidence-Based Homoeopathy: A Case Report Of Nodular Episcleritis, Sandeep Sathye

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Introduction: Nodular episcleritis (NE) is a variety of episcleritis characterised by inflammation of subconjunctival connective tissue leading to development of a localised raised congested nodule with mild pain and tenderness. It can last for weeks with a tendency to recur and is often considered as an allergic reaction to endogenous toxins. Conventional treatment includes the use of topical steroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs which give a temporary relief. Case Summary: The case of a 62-year-old male patient suffering from NE in the right eye for 15 days not responding to conventional treatment is reported here. Homoeopathic Mercurius solubilis 30C prescribed …

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate, the inhibitory effect of the homoeopathic drugs – Eupatorium perfoliatum and Crotalus horridus in experimental models of inflammation and Complete Freund's Adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis with evaluation of their safety aspects by acute and subacute toxicity studies. Materials and Methods: Animals were divided into eight groups (n = 6). Eupatorium perfoliatum and Crotalus horridus in different dilutions (6CH, 12CH, 30CH and 200CH) were administered orally, daily during the study period of 21 days, and their effect on joint dysfunction was evaluated by measuring joint diameter in CFA-induced arthritis model. Evidence-Based Homoeopathy: A Case Of Acute Paraphimosis With Balanitis, Chinta Raveendar, Kishan Banoth Sep 2013

Evidence-Based Homoeopathy: A Case Of Acute Paraphimosis With Balanitis, Chinta Raveendar, Kishan Banoth

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Paraphimosis occurs when the foreskin of the uncircumcised or partially circumcised male is retracted behind the glans penis, develops venous and lymphatic congestion and cannot be returned to its normal position. This urological emergency impedes blood flow to the glans penis with potential for permanent damage and gangrene. In infants and young children, paraphimosis usually results from self-manipulation by the child or inappropriate retraction of the foreskin by the caretaker in misguided attempts at cleaning. In the sexually active adolescent or adult male, intercourse is a potential precipitant. Iatrogenic paraphimosis follows cystoscopy or bladder catheterisation if the foreskin is not …
