Medication nonadherence can have serious consequences for patient outcomes. Home-automated telemanagement systems have supported increased levels of adherence among patients. This project explored whether the use of a home telemanagement program (HTM) would improve medication adherence in clinic patients diagnosed with hypertension (HTN). The health belief model, social learning theory, the self-regulation model and the theory of reasoned action guided this project. Providers in a primary care clinic completed the 4-question Morisky, Green, and Levine adherence scale with 50 HTN patients previously enrolled in a HTM. Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) are the most frequently reported hospital-acquired condition, affecting more than 560,000 patients each year. CAUTIs prolong hospital stays and increase health care costs, and they can result in patient morbidity and mortality. Nurses can be empowered by receiving education and knowledge to manage and identify urinary catheters that are not clinically indicated. Screened media platforms have been blamed for contributing to the childhood obesity epidemic. The purpose of this study was to determine if leisure computer usage, such as engaging in social media, impacted perceived body weight, dietary habits, and physical activity. International Classification of Diseases the 10th Revision (ICD-10) was implemented October 1, 2015, and there was little knowledge how the transition to ICD-10 would impact the revenue cycle for intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring medical practices in Oklahoma. This correlational quantitative study examined the changes in dependent variables of reimbursements due to the change from ICD-9 to ICD-10 for independent variables of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring procedure codes. The reimbursements from 2014 were compared to reimbursements from 2016. Prices were adjusted for inflation to 2016 dollar values. Annual reimbursements decreased for all intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring procedures examined except the remote monitoring code. The …

Of the 28,000 cases in the three Ebola-affected countries, Liberia had 10,000 cases with almost 5,000 deaths. In the United States, the high turnover rate of registered nurses and indications of a future shortage of registered nurses is detrimental to healthcare organizations. The purpose of this correlational study was to examine whether, in hospitals, work engagement and job satisfaction predicted registered nurse turnover intention. The theoretical framework was Fishbein and Ajzen's theory of reasoned action. Probability sampling was used to identify 155 participants, all full-time registered nurses with 2 or more years of employment in New York hospitals.
