Physical activity benefits the health and well-being of breast cancer survivors (BCS). Yet, many African American survivors do not routinely exercise and have increased risk of poor outcomes. The purpose of this mixed-method study was to identify motivational factors compelling African American BCS to participate in a 14-week team walking program and to intend to continue exercise after the intervention concluded. Focus groups were held with participants (n = 12) before and after training. Breast cancer is a leading cause of death in women. Understanding the pathophysiology of the disease is the first step in fighting cancer. This poster illustrates the signs and symptoms, underlying and significance of the pathophysiology of breast cancer, and then discusses the implications this information should have on future nursing care with emphasis on reducing the risk for and taking all measures to prevent breast cancer before a diagnosis.

Introduction
Patients undergoing adjuvant radiotherapy to the breast often experience radiation dermatitis
ranging from mild erythema to moist desquamation. In post-lumpectomy patients, the axilla
and inframammary fold are at an increased risk for friction dermatitis. Dermatitis can impact
patients’ quality-of-life and may require treatment break/cessation. Our objectives are to assess
the efficacy of 3M Cavilon Barrier Film (BF) in preventing and/or delaying the onset of gradetwo
dermatitis and reducing patient-reported sensation scores.
Methods
A total of 55 patients were randomized to receive BF on the medial or lateral breast. BF was

Background: Cytokines are being explored as a therapeutic strategy to modulate the tumor microenvironment and facilitate immunotherapy benefit in breast cancer. Here, we investigate a locoregional therapeutic approach whereby cytokines (IRX-2) are administered into the subcutaneous peri-areolar tissue (in an anatomic distribution similar to sentinel lymph node mapping) to facilitate immune cell recruitment/activation within the draining lymph nodes and tumor in ESBC. IRX-2 is derived from ex vivo phytohemagglutinin-stimulated lymphocytes and contains multiple cytokines including IL-1β, IL-2, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-6, IL-8, and GM-CSF, with stable concentrations from lot to lot.
