Despite the numerous efforts of the international community to eradicate all forms of violence against women, this problem is far from being resolved. According to the UN, one in three women has suffered physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner, sexual violence outside the couple, or both at least once in their life. Addressing this problem as a social health need of population groups allows an approach to gender violence as a collective health problem. Introduction: Myocardial infarction continues with high mortality rates, from 4.6% to 13.1%. There are predictive risk stratification models, such as the Grace Score, which does not include glycemia as a variable. Patients hospitalized for myocardial infarction with hyperglycemia on admission may have higher mortality, in ST elevated and non-elevated infarcts. Sociodemographic Characteristics And Bone Health In Argentine Adults With A Plant-Based Diet, Paula Taboada, Marcela Manuzza, Silvina Mastaglia

Objective: To analyze the sociodemographic characteristics and bone health among adult consumers of plant-based diets (PBD). Methods: Individuals aged 18 to 75 were invited to complete a self-administered survey via a digital platform. Results: A total of 1151 participants completed the survey; the majority were women [n=958 (83.2%)], young [age (years): 18-25: 35.8%; 26-35: 39.8%, and 36-45: 17.4%] and single (67.1%). The pattern of PBD consumption was mainly represented by veganism (54.0%), followed by lacto-ovo-vegetarianism (27.7%). The primary reason for their dietary choice was animal welfare (83.5%). Objective: To determine if type 2 diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, and obesity increase mortality in patients diagnosed with COVID-19 who required hospitalization in Mexico. Introduction: Whipple procedure, also known as pancreatoduodenectomy (PD), is a widely used procedure for several types of peri-ampullary cancer. Objectives: To establish the factors associated with postoperative complications after PD in the Pancreas Surgery Service of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital in Lima, Peru. Introduction: Pneumothorax is a pathology prevalent in traumatic accidents in the thorax, but it can also be found spontaneously due to causes attributable to bullous disease, pneumonia, airway obstruction, malignancy, among others. Breast cancer remains the most common malignant neoplasm and one of the leading causes of mortality in women, making it a significant target for global health efforts and a public health priority. Through the use of innovative therapies, survival rates have improved, leading to the emergence of associated conditions such as genitourinary menopausal syndrome. Objective: To determine the relationship between leadership styles and work performance of the medical staff of Hospital Vitarte Lima, 2018. Methods: Descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional study. A non-probabilistic purposive sampling was done by selecting 64 workers. And data collection was done through a previously validated questionnaire and internal consistency by Cronbach's alpha. Results: The descriptive statistics determined a 50 % in the Democratic Leadership Style of the dimensions and a level higher than 60 % for Job Performance, the inferential statistics through the Hypothesis Test by Spearman's correlation coefficient (rho = 0.85) showed a high positive correlation in both variables. …

Objective: To determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and stress coping strategies in health care workers of a Third Level of Care Hospital during 2021. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out. Two surveys were used: the COPE test which measures how to cope with stress and the Bar-On Emotional Coefficient Inventory which measures the level of emotional intelligence. Surgical wound infection secondary to complicated acute appendicitis is frequent. The objective was to compare the Dakin and the Superoxidative solutions to prevent surgical wound infections in complicated acute appendicitis. It was a comparative, cross-sectional study, in 104 patients with complicated acute appendicitis (medium age 36.29 years, 69(66.43%) men). Group 1: 52 patients with surgical wound lavage with Dakin modified solution. Group 2: 52 patients with superoxidative solution (Microdacyn®). Objective: To determine if the use of inhaled corticosteroids is a risk factor for community-acquired pneumonia in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital during the period 2017-2020. Methods: The study was analytical, observational, retrospective of cases and unmatched controls in a ratio of 4:1 with a population of 405 subjects from whom 81 cases and 324 controls were selected, who met the selection criteria. Inflammatory transverse myelitis is a rare condition that affects one or more levels of the spinal cord. Its etiology includes multiple sclerosis, infectious causes, or disorders within the spectrum of neuromyelitis optica. It presents acutely with motor, sensory, and/or dysautonomic symptoms, such as those related to the gastrointestinal and urinary systems. Diagnosis is based on symptomatology, evolution, and is confirmed by lumbar puncture, magnetic resonance imaging, and complete blood analysis. We present a clinical case of a patient with transverse myelitis who presented with gastrointestinal symptoms, motor symptoms, and was diagnosed with magnetic resonance imaging.

Objective: To determine the relationship between work environment and job satisfaction of nursing staff in the emergency service of Hospital de Vitarte. Objective: To determine the factors associated with the prevalence of overweight and obesity in university students during COVID-19, from October to December 2020. Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of death worldwide, with an incidence of 10.2%.
