This descriptive study was conducted to discover to what extent patients with diabetes utilized instruction received. If they did not, the reason why would be searched for. It was also hoped that area of instruction could be defined which needed greater emphasis while the patient was hospitalized at the time of diagnosis.

The interview with the aid of the interview guide was chosen as a data-gathering tool. The guide was complied and approve. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the temperature level following heart and great vessel surgery is greater following the use of the heart-lung machine than those following closed heart surgery or cardiac and great vessel surgery with the use of hypothermia.

The method used was the descriptive survey. Data were obtained from medical records in one selected hospital. The desired number of charts was 50 for each of the three categories. The categories were identified by groups as follows:

The bactericidal antibody test depends on the presence of sufficient complement, magnesium ions, and specific antibody to produce killing of certain gram negative bacilli. This study was undertaken to demonstrate whether or not Salmonella pullorum is an organism which is susceptible to this killing action.

Different amounts of test serum containing antibody, constant amounts of complement and magnesium saline diluent were placed together and held in a 37°C water bath for a one hour reaction time. During this interval, the antibody-complement system was given an opportunity to kill the susceptible bacteria. Then, a constant volume of nutrient broth was added …

It was the purpose of this survey to find out the awareness of a selected group of Seventh-day Adventist women regarding the importance of cervical smear examinations in cancer detection; and to identify the need for health teaching in the prevention and control of uterine cervical cancer among women of this group. The 1715 women attending meetings at the General Conference Session in San Francisco July of 1962, who completed questionnaires were considered to be the participants in this study.

It was the purpose of this study to identify the emotional needs of patients with infectious hepatitis through the use of nursing process studies. The information obtained, it was hoped, would be helpful in giving nurses better insight into the emotional needs of these patients and to give a basis for planning nursing care.

The descriptive survey was the method used; the tool, the nursing process study. Nursing care was given to six patients between the ages of 18 and 45 who had infectious hepatitis without other complications.

The purpose of this study was to determine if there is a significant difference in the amount of postpartum bleeding between two methods of uterine massage and no uterine massage. The experimental method with parallel groups technique and a single variable was used. The criterion used in determining the amount of bleeding was the volume of red cells lost.

A comparative cephalometric study was made of nineteen cases, fourteen of which were patients under treatment at the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Loma Linda University. The remainder were individuals considered to have normal occlusions.
