The collection of probability distributions on the real line which is a semigroup under the convolution operation and topological space under weak convergence has attracted, during the last quarter of a century, the attention of such great mathematicians as Khintchine, Kolmogorov, Bawly, Levy and others. Their results constitute a deep analysis of the factorization problems on the one hand and the asymptotic behavior of infinite convolutions on the other.
