The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness of smartphones in achieving educational goals. Moreover, this study also explores the required library services that should be accessible via smartphone. A quantitative research approach was adopted and a self-administered questionnaire was distributed among those students who currently using smartphones to answer the survey. Descriptive statistics were applied to analyze the purpose of the students in relation to use their smartphones. Abstract

Purpose: This study explores the perceptions of Library professionals towards the technological trends used in the Public Sector Universities of Pakistan.

Methodology/Approach: The quantitative research method was adopted while using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. Librarianship requires personnel who most times should be confident, competent, social and good team players. These good interpersonal behaviors are paramount for effective and productive library services. This study was undertaken to assess the relationship between self-esteem and emotional intelligence among librarians in Nigerian universities. 140 librarians consented to and participated in the study. Roosenberg Self-Esteem scale and Schutte Emotional Intelligence Test were used to assess self-esteem and emotional intelligence respectively. It is a survey that investigated the correlation between student librarians’ empathic behaviour and their academic achievement. The study employed correlation design with area of study covering ten universities’ library schools in Nigeria. This project report describes climate assessment activities in support of the development of a college-level diversity, equity, and inclusion (EDI) action plan. Elements of the climate assessment activities are described along with their purpose and rationale for inclusion. Recommendations are made for libraries to design and deploy their own EDI assessment activities with the goal of developing robust action plans supportive of inclusive excellence.

The paper examined the information needs and use of non-academic staff in University of Africa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The researchers adopted descriptive survey design. The population of the study comprised of 100 non-academic staff out of which 57 were randomly selected. Four (4) research questions guided this study. Data was collected using the questionnaire. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistics such as frequency count and simple percentage. Purpose: the aim of the research is to investigate the use and perception of WhatsApp among LIS professionals in Pakistan.

Design/methodology/approach: quantitative research was adopted for this study and data have been collected using an online Google doc survey. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to know the scholarly visibility of science faculty members of Karnataka state universities as reflected in ResearchGate.

Methodology: The list of faculty members working in various universities of Karnataka State was collected from websites of respective universities. The data related to Publications, Reads, Citations, h-index, RG Score, of each faculty members were extracted from ResearchGate profile pages of the faculty members.

Findings: The study revealed that 61.17% of science faculty members have created the RG profile. Among the academics, University of Mysore science faculty members have more citations (23821) and RG score (1016.78). …

The study tends to determine the year-wise publications, authorship pattern, total count of citations, citations per year, most cited publications and the most prolific authors. The data for the study was extracted from Google Scholar by using bibliometric tool “Public & Perish”. To meet the challenges of a data-driven society, high school students need new arrays of literacy skills. In the United States, school librarians, who work across disciplines, are well-positioned to help students improve their data practice, but they first need new domain knowledge. This article presents findings from an evaluating survey and session evaluation data from a virtual data literacy conference, which were part of a federally-funded project to develop data literacy skills among high school librarians and educators. Present study examines the user satisfaction of library resources and services: A survey of pre-university college teachers in Karnataka, India. Well structured questionnaires were distributed among 125 teachers to collect their opinions regarding the frequency and purpose of visit to the library. Study also highlights the available information resources and services. From the study we found that the majority of the respondents 65 (63.73%) are male followed by female respondents 37 (36.27%).
