Finding a position in a library can be challenging for recent Library and Information Science (LIS) graduates. While LIS students are often encouraged to seek out experience, network, and improve upon their technology skills in hopes of better improving their odds in the job market, little research exists to support this anecdotal advice. This study quantifies the academic and work experiences of recent LIS graduates in order to provide a better understanding of what factors most significantly influence the outcome of their academic library job searches. This report was created to quantify and qualify the value of historic archives managed by the Parkview Library within the Institutional Repository (IR) and/or our internal platform Sharepoint.
Parkview Hospital has a long history and with an accumulation of documents and photographs. These historic materials (digital and physical) reside between three Parkview departments: Marketing, Media Services, and the Resource Library. The Parkview Resource Library receives two or three requests for archival materials annually. Conference attendance can play an important role in supporting the professional development of subject librarians by offering opportunities that allow librarians to learn about new services, strategies, and technologies while growing and maintaining professional networks. However, barriers such as accessibility challenges, budgetary and resource restrictions, difficulty measuring learning gains, and difficulty measuring the value of professional development when applied to the job can restrict opportunities for many librarians. Specialized regional conferences have the potential to reduce many of these barriers. Learning Objective Measures And Participant Comments From The Great Lakes Science Boot Camps For Librarians, 2015-2019, Bethany S. Mcgowan, Jennifer Hart, Karen Hum

5 of these 6 Excel files include Likert measures of participant responses to questions measuring the achievement of learning objectives for the Great Lakes Science Boot Camps for Librarians and Library School Students, from 2015-2019. Free-text comments are also included. 1 Excel file contains a coded dataset for free-text comments from 2015-2019, along with the results of a Principal Component Analysis.
