Household recycling is valuable because it reduces demand for virgin raw materials and lessens the cost of making products containing paper, metal, glass, or plastic. Effective recycling programs limit the amount of materials sent to landfills. Understanding the policies and contexts that are most conducive to promot- ing recycling can assist in the development of more effective recycling systems. It can also help businesses that are concerned with the disposition of their products and packaging. In adapting communities to new levels of fairness, we must resist the notion that building equitable and accessible communities is antagonistic to building climate-cognizant communities. President Biden has launched an Indo-Pacific Framework for Prosperity (“IPEF”) that purports to facilitate high standards, including high labor standards, in the region. That Framework is silent on traditional trade matters such as market access, leading many trade and labor scholars and policymakers to question its utility.

Contrary to that skepticism, this commissioned report argues that the IPEF holds tremendous promise by realigning the bottom-up governance of labor rights in trade with international labor governance. Today's intellectual property debates, in both law and the larger society, are a bellwether of changing justice needs in the twenty-first century. As the digital age democratizes technological opportunities, it brings intellectual property law into mainstream everyday culture. This generates debates about the relationship between the constitutional interest in "the progress of science and useful arts" and other fundamental values, such as equality, privacy, and distributive justice. These values, which were not explicitly part of intellectual property regimes in prior eras, are especially challenged in today's internet world.

This article aims to examine the relationship between the concepts of intellectual property, biodiversity, and indigenous knowledge from the perspective of food security and farmers’ rights.
