The UMSL OER Open Dataset is a collection of data pertaining to Affordable and Open Educational Resources (OER) courses offered at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). The dataset includes information such as course names, IDs, instructors, meeting patterns, enrollment numbers, and more. This dataset is not exhaustive, but it does include a helpful data dictionary to help orient researchers, educators, and students to better utilize the dataset to explore potential student cost savings and patterns in affordable and OER course offerings at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The public was invited to attend the University of North Florida’s latest Diverse Perspectives Series event, “Pill Mills to Fentanyl: Tackling the Opioid Epidemic.”
Hosted by UNF’s Office of Public Policy Events, the free discussion was held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2024, in the Robinson Theatre.
Drug overdoses killed a record 112,000 Americans last year, with most of the deaths coming from synthetics opioids like fentanyl.

University Research Data and Datasets
Objective: This exploratory study examined perceived self-efficacy in information literacy skills in nursing students and discusses how collaborative relationships between nursing faculty and librarians can strengthen curricular efforts to support information literacy.
Methods: Using the Information Competency Assessment Instrument, a survey research design was used to determine student perceptions of their information literacy skills. Participants included nursing Baccalaureate, Master's and Doctoral students in each of these programs.
Results: The Information Competency Assessment Instrument identified low self-efficacy in the following categories: using an index, determining information needed for assignments, use of governmental documents, media sources, producers of information and citing sources. …

The COVID-19 pandemic affected nearly every aspect of the collegiate experience – including commencement. DePaul wanted to ensure the Class of 2021 had the opportunity to participate in the time-honored tradition – even if it looked different than a typical year. A democracy that’s truly representative of the people depends on the people to exercise their right to vote. There are some groups of people, however, who regularly don’t vote—because they don’t know they’re eligible. Contrary to popular belief, in Illinois, a convicted felon regains eligibility to vote as soon as he or she leaves a corrections facility. Anyone awaiting trial in jail is eligible to vote, too. Thousands across the globe—from Singapore to Croatia—will sleep outside on Dec. 7 in solidarity with and in support of people experiencing homelessness. In Chicago, DePaul’s Institute of Global Homelessness is hosting the World’s Big Sleep Out on the Lincoln Park Campus. It’s one of IGH’s many initiatives to help end street homelessness around the world. Investigating The Effects Of Student Debt On Career Outcomes: An Empirical Approach, Gideon Moore

High student debt has been hypothesized to affect career choice, causing students to desire stable, high paying jobs. To test this hypothesis, I rely on plausibly exogenous variation in debt due to a federal policy shift. In the summer of 2007, the Higher Education Reconciliation Act (or HERA) expanded the cap for federally subsidized student loans. I examine how variation in debt affects career choice and eventual salary of students using data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979 Child and Young Adult Cohort of students who were of college age during the implementation of the policy.
