Eeg Classifier Validation Methods For Neuroprosthetic Hand Development, Keigo Yamauchi Mar 2023

Eeg Classifier Validation Methods For Neuroprosthetic Hand Development, Keigo Yamauchi

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

To date, many challenges have been reported in the development of neuroprosthetic hands using EEG and neural signals. In this study, we report the results of a literature review on Brain Computer Interface (BCI) technology, an investigation of estimation methods using applications in MATLAB, and the results of Electroencephalography (EEG) classification to assist in the development of neural prosthetic hands using biological signals such as EEG. Confusion Matrix was created using Motor Imagery (MI) data as the predictive value, and the average accuracy of more than 90% was obtained for the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and decision tree method. The results …

Water Regulation For Enhancing Soil Quality Using Cactus Mucilage: A Theoretical And Experimental Analysis, Khuloud Alrashdi Jul 2021

Water Regulation For Enhancing Soil Quality Using Cactus Mucilage: A Theoretical And Experimental Analysis, Khuloud Alrashdi

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

As water is one of the primary sources of life, it is essential in an endless number of systems and processes to be utilized efficiently in nature and in practical applications. One of these applications includes farming, which depletes a lot of water as the water irrigation systems cover large soil areas. While water is a critical factor in growing crops, a question here stands, can the irrigation process be transformed? This is the overarching goal of my work since it is centered on studying if cactus mucilage, a natural substance, is capable of improving water absorption processes on crops …

Cubesat Constellation Design For Intersatellite Linking, Michael T. White Jun 2019

Cubesat Constellation Design For Intersatellite Linking, Michael T. White

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

This thesis investigates the concept of controlling a CubeSat constellation in low-Earth orbit. Low-Earth orbits are considered because the torque used for satellite control is supplied with magnetorquers, and the closer the satellite is to Earth’s magnetic field the more control gain can be supplied. Also, this is the expected orbit altitude of future CubeSat constellations to enable communications.

Controlling a CubeSat relies on attitude determination. This means being able to estimate its attitude relative to a given reference frame. To determine the attitude, we propose to use a star tracker and a Kalman filter. A star tracker scans the …

Model Of A Sulfur-Based Cyclic Denitrification Filter For Marine Recirculating Aquaculture Systems, Zhang Cheng Mar 2019

Model Of A Sulfur-Based Cyclic Denitrification Filter For Marine Recirculating Aquaculture Systems, Zhang Cheng

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) are a type of near zero-discharge fish production system that is used to treat and recirculate aquaculture wastewater and increase the biomass stocking density in the fish tank. The RAS presented in this thesis was a marine system which was operated with two temporally independent cycles, Loop 1, a continuous loop, and Loop 2, an intermittent loop. Flow in the RAS was switched between the two loops by a solenoid valve. During the operation of Loop 1, components involved in the cycle were successively the fish tank for fish production, solids filters for solids removal and …
