The communication process is the key that characterizes the modern concept of smart grid, a new technology that introduced a “two-way communication” in energy measurement systems and can be best represented through the smart meters. The increasing trend of the energy industry to move towards a new smart power grid has pushed researchers to address the challenges that this represents.
