Controller Modeling And Stability Analysis Of Multiple Input Single Output Dc-Dc Converter, Astha Adhikari Mar 2021

Controller Modeling And Stability Analysis Of Multiple Input Single Output Dc-Dc Converter, Astha Adhikari

Master's Theses

This thesis entails the stability analysis of the Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) DC-DC converter developed for the DC House Project at Cal Poly. A frequency domain control system model of the MISO converter was designed and constructed using MATLAB Simulink. Transfer functions were derived and modeled for each stage of the converter to best fit the converter circuit system used in the original MISO circuit. Stability metrics such as overshoot, undershoot, rise time, phase margin and gain margin were measured to evaluate and analyze the stability of the converter. These metrics were measured with the original model including the …

Multiple Input Single Output Converter With Maximum Power Point Tracking For Renewable Energy Applications, Kenneth K. Nguyen, Taufik Taufik May 2020

Multiple Input Single Output Converter With Maximum Power Point Tracking For Renewable Energy Applications, Kenneth K. Nguyen, Taufik Taufik

Master's Theses

In this thesis, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for multiple input single output (MISO) converter is presented such that power generated from multiple individual energy sources can be combined to deliver the maximum amount of power to a common resistive load. Typically, MISO converters will employ techniques that yield equal current sharing from each energy source. However, this may not be desirable since each source may be rated at different power ratings and/or may experience different operating conditions, preventing the system MISO converter to acquire the most available total power from the sources. Utilizing MPPT control would therefore be …

Design And Construction Of 1800w Modular Multiple Input Single Output Non-Isolated Dc-Dc Converters, Angelo Miguel Asuncion Gallardo Jun 2017

Design And Construction Of 1800w Modular Multiple Input Single Output Non-Isolated Dc-Dc Converters, Angelo Miguel Asuncion Gallardo

Master's Theses

This thesis report details the design and construction of non-isolated DC-DC converters to create a Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) converter for combining multiple renewable energy sources into one single output. This MISO uses the four-switch buck-boost topology to output a single 48V from multiple nominal 24V inputs. The MISO converter implements a modular approach to deliver 1800W output power. Each module in the MISO is rated at 600W and they share the output power equally. Hardware results show that the converter produces 1800W of output power from three sources with 96.4% efficiency. Each module also demonstrates equal sharing feature …

Multiple Input Single Output (Miso) Tablet/ Phone Charger, Kevin Wong Jun 2013

Multiple Input Single Output (Miso) Tablet/ Phone Charger, Kevin Wong

Master's Theses

This thesis entails the design and implementation of a multiple input single output (MISO) DC-DC converter using the flyback topology to charge tablets/ smartphones or any USB powered portable device. The MISO converter will enable the use of various renewable energy sources such as a solar panel/ rechargeable battery combination, bicycle dynamo, hydroelectric power, and wind turbine. This paper will cover the design, simulations, and test results of the MISO converter. The flyback topology was chosen due to its low part count and its efficiency at low power. The proposed converter has a nominal 12V input to output USB 2.0 …
