Higher education in the United States has grown from a single course designed to educate administrators and faculty to serve within colleges and universities, to a robust field of study with hundreds of graduate programs across the country. Despite a lengthy body of research on college and university presidents, there is little to no research that demonstrates the efficacy of higher education programs to prepare their graduates to serve as presidents.
