Athletics had a long, bitter struggle to find its way into the schools. The corruption that grew out of the pre-school athletics finally awakened the school administrators in the early part of the twentieth century to do something about it. The first step was to receive the program into the schools. However, this did not solve all the problems. Administrative problems have prevailed in the schools ever since the entrance of athletics into the educational curriculum.
