Stuttering is a speech impediment that often requires speech therapy to curb the symptoms. In speech therapy, people who stutter (PWS) learn techniques that they can use to improve their fluency. PWS often practice their techniques extensively in order to maintain fluent speech. Many listen to audio recordings to practice where a single word or sentence is played on the recording and then there is a pause, giving the user a chance to say the word(s) to practice. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) each year. Given the complexity of ASD and how it is manifested in individuals, the execution of proper interventions is difficult. One major area of concern is how individuals with ASD who have limited communication skills are taught to communicate using Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices (AAC). AACs are portable electronic devices that facilitate communication by using audibles, signs, gestures, and picture symbols. The office that this application was designed for is a Speech Pathology office. Therapists are sent to the houses of patients to treat them. After each visit, the speech pathologists record the data collected from the treatment. This data is then collected and type manually into an excel sheet by the office administrator.

The way the office is currently run is inefficient and outdated. Because all the information from the visits has to be typed manually into the excel sheets there is a back log of information that has to be entered. This leads to disorganization and possible loss of …
