There are roughly as many definitions of leadership as there are books, seminars, TED Talks, and blogs. While these resources can inspire and shape best practices, the bedrock foundation for leadership is Scripture. Jesus taught — and lived — that “whoever would be great among you must be your servant” (Mark 10:43). The Omnipotent Creator turned the world’s top-down power structure on its head and “did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant” (Phil. 2:6–7). In October 2012, Cedarville hosted the American Dream Conference: Christian Perspectives on the Economy. The conference was part of the Critical Concern Series exploring cultural issues of our day from a biblical perspective.

Keynote speakers included economists, authors, professors, and market researchers. Their areas of scholarship ranged from Social Security administration and investment research to biblical perspectives on capitalism and the role of government.
