Hashtag Activism And Football Tragedy Commemoration: Social Network Analysis In The #100harikanjuruhan Hashtag On Twitter, Andi Pajolloi Bate, Haekal Fajri Amrullah

This research explores the role of hashtag activism and the 100-day commemoration of the Kanjuruhan tragedy in shaping the structure and dynamics of social relationships on Twitter. The study utilizes social network analysis (SNA) to analyze the social network around the #100harikanjuruhan (100 Days of Kanjuruhan) hashtag and visualize the network model formed through centrality measurements to identify influential accounts in conversations related to the hashtag. The study found that the formed network structure indicates relatively distant actor distances with low connectivity and one-way ties, as well as centralized power with an insignificant distribution. This paper attempts to explain the threat that foreign disinformation poses for the United States Intelligence Community and its allies. The paper examines Russian disinformation from both a historical and contemporary context and how its effect on Western democracies may only be exacerbated in light of Chinese involvement and evolving technologies. Fortunately, the paper also studies practices and strategies that the United States Intelligence Community and its allied foreign counterparts may use to respond. It is hoped that this study will help shed further light on Russian and Chinese disinformation campaigns and explain how the Intelligence Community can efficiently react.

The United Nation Children’s Fund has programs and initiatives involving various stakeholders and the active participation of audiences worldwide, so communication becomes a crucial aspect of the organization's operations especially in increasing public involvement. This study aims to identify the role of opinion leader UNICEF—especially the initiation of Generation Unlimited—through message types in its communication process on Twitter to increase public engagement using a mix-method design through big data analytics and content analysis. Purpose: Many health researchers and practitioners use Twitter to stimulate scientific dialogue and collaboration among peers, as well as the general public. In 2018, the Clinical Exercise Physiology Lab (CEPL) undertook a year-long scientific Twitter campaign (#365Papers) where one peer-reviewed publication related to cancer and exercise/physical activity was tweeted per day. Features of this campaign included Throwback Thursdays (selected article published before 2018) and guest tweeters (article chosen by other exercise oncology researchers). Research on media and contentious politics in the Arab world point to the vital role that social media played in the Arab Spring. For the purposes of this article, the Arab Spring is defined as a series of demonstrations and democratic uprisings—and in the cases of Libya, Syria, and Yemen armed rebel movements—that arose independently and spread across the Arab world from Tunisia and Egypt to Yemen, Bahrain, Libya, and Syria in 2010-2011 and beyond.
