Emotional Intelligence, Self-Efficacy, And The Perceived Employability Of Traditional Undergraduate Business Students In A Private Midwest Educational Institution, Michele Ryan

Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)

Emotional intelligence has gained increasing popularity since its definition and subsequent research 30 years ago. Numerous studies have focused on emotional intelligence and undergraduate students, and studies have demonstrated a positive relationship between a student with higher emotional intelligence and their academic and mental abilities. Undergraduate students have also been the focus of research related to self-efficacy and perceived employability, but those two facets have not been tied together with emotional intelligence. Additionally, managers have noted a skills gap for graduating students entering the workforce as students seem to be lacking emotional intelligence while thinking they have a sufficient amount. …

Leading For Success: Leader-Member Exchange Relationships And Employee Creative Self-Efficacy, Mary Joy Wytsma

University Honors Theses

In today's competitive and ever-evolving business landscape, creativity has become a major focus for managers, leaders, and organizations. However, there are downsides to making creative employees the end-all goal. Instead, managers and leaders should focus on fostering employee creative self-efficacy via high-quality Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) relationships. Within team settings, LMX works in tandem with Team-Member Exchange (TMX), and these relationships allow employees to experience positive physiological state, social persuasion, vicarious experience, and mastery experience, the four drivers of self-efficacy. Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Psychiatric technicians provide one-on-one daily care for mentally ill persons in inpatient settings. Specifically, suicide prevention may be more intimidating for psychiatric technicians who assume their positions with minimal clinical education and training to meet the needs of the individuals they serve. The present research was conducted to explore self-efficacy in psychiatric technicians who perform suicide prevention protocols for mental health patients. To capture participants’ experiences, a phenomenological approach was used and semi structured interviews were conducted to collect data in the study. The conceptual framework of self-efficacy theory was applied to establish theoretical foundations for understanding how psychiatric technicians …
