The new Director, Dr. T. C. Dunne, was born in Fremantle where he received his primary and secondary education.

After winning a Government exhibition and the Henry Seeligson scholarship at the age of 16, he enrolled in the faculty of Agriculture in the University. He gained the degree of B.Sc. (Agric.) in 1925

Richard Philip Roberts, M.Sc. (Agric), Officer-in- Charge, Rural Economics and Marketing Section of this Department, died 26th August, aged 55 years, while spending the weekend with relatives and friends at his holiday house at Point Peron.

Mr. Shier brings a wealth of experience to his new appointment. Prom Bunbury High School he entered the University of Western Australia as a cadet of this Department in 1922, and graduated as a Bachelor of Agriculture Science in 1926.
