Overall organizational stability (i.e., productivity and financial capabilities) is maintained when skilled employees are successfully recruited and trained as …

How Effective Are Seta Programs Anyway: Learning And Forgetting In Security Awareness Training, David Sikolia, David Biros, Tianjian Zhang
Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice
Prevalent security threats caused by human errors necessitate security education, training, and awareness (SETA) programs in organizations. Despite strong theoretical foundations in behavioral cybersecurity, field evidence on the effectiveness of SETA programs in mitigating actual threats is scarce. Specifically, with a broad range of cybersecurity knowledge crammed into in a single SETA session, it is unclear how effective different types of knowledge are in mitigating human errors in a longitudinal setting. his study investigates how knowledge gained through SETA programs affects human errors in cybersecurity to fill the longitudinal void. In a baseline experiment, we establish that SETA programs reduce …

Policing For Peace: Training For A 21st Century Police Force, Kate M. Den Houter, Margaret E. Brooks
Personnel Assessment and Decisions
We review the present state of research on police training in the United States, highlighting gaps in the literature, and limitations of trainings in use by local policing agencies. We focus on training content relevant to the volatile situations that are at the center of controversy, we evaluate content areas that focus on successfully navigating real-time, unpredictable, and potentially dangerous interactions, and discuss training needs in these areas. We suggest that one common response to the issue of bias—implicit bias training—lacks evidence of efficacy. Accordingly, we recommend alternative training content to address bias and discrimination. Finally, we call attention to …

Despite the increasing interest in informal learning, no attempt has been made to examine and understand informal learning in an online learning environment.
This dissertation provides an integrative review of prior work on formal and informal learning in online …

Agile project management is considered an enabler for increased productivity over traditional project management frameworks because Agile helps the team remain focused and transparent, fostering collaboration, communication, and accountability. The methodology relies on self-organized and frequently geographically disbursed teams. This approach encourages creativity and innovation, increases the pace of development, enables flexibility in response to changing requirements, and promotes customer satisfaction. However, implementing Agile methodologies requires a philosophical change in management’s approach. Adapting to an Agile organization requires understanding the differences in methods and the impact of the changes on the working culture. The engagement of remote team members by …
