In November 1980, Harrison Price Company (HPC) completed a revised economic planning analysis for the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition, which finalized attendance projections, physical facilities requirements, and estimates of financial performance. As a supplement to that study, the fair’s organization committee, Louisiana World Exposition, Inc. requested HPC to prepare an economic impact analysis of the event, focusing on certain key sectors of the local economy that would be appreciably stimulated by the staging of a major world exposition. In planning for the 1984 World Exposition, Louisiana World Exposition, Inc. retained the Harrison Price Company (HPC) to prepare a report that synthesized all prior studies while incorporating new considerations that had come to light since the prior studies were completed. The report has the following sections: 1) introduction, 2) attendance planning, 3) project sizing, 4) supporting infrastructure, 5) economic parameters, and 6) executive summary.
