This thesis examines the cultural identity of digital nomads in Southeast Asia and its impact on their evolving labor model. Employing qualitative interviews and document research, the study investigates the lifestyles of these contemporary nomads. The research reveals a finding: despite roaming abroad, digital nomads maintain a strong connection to their national identity. This intriguing phenomenon demonstrates the persistence of cultural heritage in shaping their self-identity. Unlike traditional global nomads, digital nomads display a more utility-oriented approach, where their nomadic lifestyle is deeply interwoven with their work status. This research argues the history of the Chinese Association in Thailand (CAT) is strongly connected to the transformation of self-identity among the pro-Republic of China Thai Chinese. Since the foundation of CAT in 1907 by the Tongmenghui members, the association itself represents the rise of Chinese nationalism amongst ethnic Chinese in Siam. The Bronze Drum is a living specimen of Southeast Asian culture and a testimony to the development of Southeast Asian societies for more than 2,000 years. The Bronze Drum has been inherited dynamically hitherto, and the Thai state ceremonies still adopt it. However, current scholarship on Bronze Drums is confined chiefly to static studies, which caused the omission of the essence of glocalization. This thesis presents an analysis of the folk beliefs and cultural tourism in modern Vietnam through a case study of the Perfume Temple Festival. It is presumed that folk beliefs and traditional folklore have always constituted the spiritual foundation of Vietnamese people in present day society. It is found that the introduction of religions from outside Vietnam does not affect traditional folk beliefs. These religious beliefs have been integrated into Vietnamese beliefs and traditional culture. This integration contributes to the stability and harmony of modern Vietnamese society. This research looks at the relations between Taiwan and Southeast Asia under President Tsai Ing-wen's first term (2016-2020) as her administration launched the people-centred New Southbound policy by analysing Taiwan's political discourse and interviewing shareholders in the policy projects. It argues that Taiwan acts as a norm entrepreneur framing its initiative and persuading targeted countries to join hands in development matters for people's well-being in the region. In turn, the people-centred rebranding is expected to justify and normalise cooperation at non- and semi-governmental levels with Taiwan without violating the one-China policy since the policy mainly aims to forge socio-economic partnerships. …

There were two main objectives for this research, which were 1) to study Thai transgender women's opinion and attitude toward Korean-styled aesthetic surgery, and 2) to identify the factors that affect decision on having Korean-styled aesthetic surgery for Thai transgender women.
