In a little over 100 years, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brazil has grown to a membership of 1,447,470 (December 2013), becoming the country with the second highest total number of Adventists in the world. Very little academic research has been done to study or analyze the growth and development of the Adventist church in Brazil. In terms of its mission methods, what is the Christian movement ethos that fostered this development in Brazil? How can it continue to foster Adventist church growth in Brazil in spite of contextual changes?

Problem

In the report that was presented, the Associação Paulista Sul audit department identified that in 2012, 93% of the offerings received went to the local church and 7% went to cost the Church's worldwide expansion. According to the guidelines issued by Divisão Sul Americana da Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia (DSA), this amount should be 40% of the total. The Associação Paulista Sul offerings have been used to meet local needs rather than neglecting the Seventh-day Adventist Church's need for worldwide expansion.

The Seventh Day Adventist church in the South American Division, promotes teamwork among its members through the small groups; even though a high percentage of church members are involved in the small groups not all of the members involved achieve a high level of participation. The purpose of this study is to find what relationship exists between authentic leadership, level of satisfaction and level of commitment in the participation of members in their small group in the East Peruvian Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church during the year of 2015.

Sabbath School is designed to be a system in which people are engaged in the process of becoming disciples, however, the church tends to operate in a formal and mechanical manner. As a result, the Sabbath School cannot be an agency to produce Christ’s disciples and the church cannot be a community of discipleship.
