Saint Boniface, Lewis W. Spitz Sep 1954

Saint Boniface, Lewis W. Spitz

Concordia Theological Monthly

Twelve centuries have passed since St. Boniface on June 5, 754, died as a martyr on the banks of the Borne at Dokkum, in Friesland. Much is being made of the anniversary of his death. Roman Catholics have organized pilgrimages both to Dokkum, the place of his death, and to Fulda, where his body now rests. Protestants, too, have honored his memory with special services. Many thousands of both Roman Catholic and Protestant Christians have thus paid their respects to a great man of God and to their common Christian heritage.

A Historical Survey Of State Aid For Roman Catholic Parochial Schools In The United States, Clifford Peterson Jun 1954

A Historical Survey Of State Aid For Roman Catholic Parochial Schools In The United States, Clifford Peterson

Master of Sacred Theology Thesis

The thesis of this study was that the Roman Catholic Church in the United States has operated with varied consistency in its attitude toward the relation of Church and State as this relation finds practical application in the state support of parochial school education. Important in this connection have been the various statements and actions on the part of the Church as to who has the right to educate the child. It seems to be clear that the encyclicals of the popes; together with the official declarations of the American Councils and the united hierarchy of' the United States have …

F. Scott Fitzgerald : His Materials And His Methods, Clifton Lanier Warren Jan 1954

F. Scott Fitzgerald : His Materials And His Methods, Clifton Lanier Warren

Master's Theses

From the time I was first introduced to Fitzgerald's writing through a reading of This Side of Paradise, when I was a freshman in college, his subject matter and technique as a novelist have interested me intensely. After reading the first novel, I was not satisfied until I had voraciously read his other novels. With each reading of another of his books, my interest increased. Later, when Mizener's valuable biography appeared, I was introduced to Fitzgerald the man and have found his life as fascinating as his writings. However I felt that none of the books about Fitzgerald completely presented …
