History Of The Kansas Mennonites With A Study Of Their European Background, Victor C. Seibert
History Of The Kansas Mennonites With A Study Of Their European Background, Victor C. Seibert
Master's Theses
Many books have been written on Mennonite history, but these deal largely with the religious aspect of their life. The purpose of this thesis is to present the social, moral, economic and political aspects of their migrations and life, not only of their early centuries, but of the present time. Only enough of the religious element will be presented to give a general modern knowledge of their religious beliefs which in turn influence their life in general. Particularly will it be stressed how these people have influenced the history of Kansas. This thesis was written for the purpose of preserving …
A Study Of The Administration And Organization Of The High School Band In Western Kansas, Paul H. Andree
A Study Of The Administration And Organization Of The High School Band In Western Kansas, Paul H. Andree
Master's Theses
This study is a scientific investigation to determine the educational values of band instruction as a part of the curriculum as well as the accepted methods of procedure, organization and administration of the high school band in Western Kansas. It is obvious that in such an extensive survey as this, it is necessary that the factors involved be limited to certain particular phases of the problem. For this reason and since the greatest outward appearance of advance in the band movement has been made in the past decade in Western Kansas the present survey will present the situation as found …

Thomas Jefferson Randolph, Democratic Leader, Jerome A. Hurwitz
Thomas Jefferson Randolph, Democratic Leader, Jerome A. Hurwitz
Master's Theses
There has been considerable time spent in writing the life and accomplishments of Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson, although he had several children, never had a son. Therefore, Thomas Jefferson Randolph, the son of Martha Jefferson Randolph, was the most direct male descendant of the second President.
However, no one has made an attempt to write the biography of the grandson . It is particularly appropriate to write his life not only because of Thomas Jefferson Randolph's famous lineage but because he was an ardent adherent to the Democratic principles of his illustrious grandfather.

Greek And Roman Child Life As Represented In Some Greek And Latin Authors, Anne Louise Sanford
Greek And Roman Child Life As Represented In Some Greek And Latin Authors, Anne Louise Sanford
Master's Theses
In the following study I have attempted to present a picture of Greek and Roman child life as it is represented in some Greek and Latin authors. Most of my material has been derived from well known authors such as Homer, Plato, Quintilian, etc. But there has been an attempt to enlarge my scope by consulting some other Greek and Latin authors easily available in the University of Richmond Library, the Richmond Public Library and the Virginia state Library. In my general discussion I have drawn freely on available works which would be helpful for elucidation and comparison.

Pottery Making Possibilities Of The Clays Of Ellis County, Kansas, John M. Strange
Pottery Making Possibilities Of The Clays Of Ellis County, Kansas, John M. Strange
Master's Theses
The north half of Ellis County from Big Greek to the Saline River has numerous deposits of clay, while the south half of the county has few outcroppings . From Big Creek to the Smoky Hill River on the south, any clay there may be is covered by a rich top soil which has filled the lowlands from the hills north of Hays, to the low hills along the river. There are numerous deposits of shale in the hills south of the Saline which could be used commercially for tile or brick manufacture, however, their dark color lessens their value …
