Chez Henri Cookbook Redesign, Izzy Kelly Jun 2022

Chez Henri Cookbook Redesign, Izzy Kelly

Graphic Communication

Chez Henri is a redesigned version of a cookbook that Bonnie Henry, my grandmother, has curated over the past 50 years. The original book was entitled “A Collection of Recipes From Friends and Family”, but I decided to rename it to “Chez Henri”, a phrase that was written on a sign outside of her home for almost 20 years. Bonnie Henry is an excellent cook and her recipes include many salads, soups, entrees, and dishes that most people don’t see everyday. Chez Henri contains photography that depicts these recipes, notes from the chef, and clear cut instructions that are easy …

After discovering photography in 2018 and dedicating the past year of my life to this passion I want to turn it into a career. I looked at different ways COVID-19 will affect my desired profession and the events and music industry in which I hope to work. After thoroughly familiarizing myself with these industries, I was able to discern that a career in photography is possible if I market myself, …

Promoting A Benefit Concert With Digital Media, Aubrea Felch

Graphic Communication

The introduction of digital media in mass communication and advertising had a powerful impact on the event planning industry, specifically in the promotion of benefit concerts. Not only can digital media promote an event, but it can also help event coordinators establish an image for themselves, be used as a means of benefiting those who have donated to the cause, and enhance the event itself. All digital media can be put into several different classifications: digital audio, digital video, digital photography, Internet technology, and interactive Internet applications. This study asks the question: In what ways can an event planner use …

Extended Portraits, Matthew W. Schmitz Dec 2009

Extended Portraits, Matthew W. Schmitz

Art and Design

For my senior project, I wanted to do something photographically diverse and creative with the classmates of my major. I decided the focus of my project would be portraits and interviews documenting the experiences of those classmates; who they were as people and why they picked Cal Poly as their school. I researched various forms of portraiture and gathered those ideas and various questions to help flesh out my concept. My photo shoots experimented in various forms of alternative portraiture, accompanied with an answered questionnaire filled out by each of them. I wanted the finished product to be well laid …
