A Prehistoric Habitation Site On The St. Croix River, Ralph D. Brown

The recent report of the discovery of a prehistoric rock shelter or cave habitation site on the St. Croix River was received with considerable interest, for such sites have often been the source of important information in the field of archaeology. However, they are very rare in the Northwest; and, although in southern Minnesota there are in some places many caves and shelters, there is no evidence, with very few exceptions, that any of them was ever occupied.
