Reconnaissance Mission Planning Method For Air-Ground Heterogeneous Unmanned Systems, Guohui Zhang, Ya'nan Zhang, Ang Gao, Aoyu Xu

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Compared with the air-based homogeneous unmanned system, the motion capabilities, resource payloads, and combat scenes in the air-ground heterogeneous unmanned system increase the number of constraint conditions and significantly increase the computational complexity of the solution model. The modeling of collaborative combat missions and the efficient solution of large-scale problems are the key issues. With the time, path cost, and reconnaissance benefit as the objective functions, considering the constraints such as the endurance of unmanned platforms, a multi-objective programming model for the reconnaissance missions of an air-ground heterogeneous unmanned system is constructed. Aiming at the urban combat environments with …

Glop: Learning Global Partition And Local Construction For Solving Large-Scale Routing Problems In Real-Time, Haoran Ye, Jiarui Wang, Helan Liang, Zhiguang Cao, Yong Li, Fanzhang Li

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems

The recent end-to-end neural solvers have shown promise for small-scale routing problems but suffered from limited real-time scaling-up performance. This paper proposes GLOP (Global and Local Optimization Policies), a unified hierarchical framework that efficiently scales toward large-scale routing problems. GLOP partitions large routing problems into Travelling Salesman Problems (TSPs) and TSPs into Shortest Hamiltonian Path Problems. For the first time, we hybridize non-autoregressive neural heuristics for coarse-grained problem partitions and autoregressive neural heuristics for fine-grained route constructions, leveraging the scalability of the former and the meticulousness of the latter. Experimental results show that GLOP achieves competitive and state-of-the-art real-time performance …

Characterizing Linearizable Qaps By The Level-1 Reformulation-Linearization Technique, Lucas Waddell, Warren Adams 2024 Bucknell University

Characterizing Linearizable Qaps By The Level-1 Reformulation-Linearization Technique, Lucas Waddell, Warren Adams

Faculty Journal Articles

The quadratic assignment problem (QAP) is an extremely challenging NP-hard combinatorial optimization program. Due to its difficulty, a research emphasis has been to identify special cases that are polynomially solvable. Included within this emphasis are instances which are linearizable; that is, which can be rewritten as a linear assignment problem having the property that the objective function value is preserved at all feasible solutions. Various known sufficient conditions for identifying linearizable instances have been explained in terms of the continuous relaxation of a weakened version of the level-1 reformulation-linearization-technique (RLT) form that does not enforce nonnegativity on a subset …

Containerization Of Seafarers In The International Shipping Industry: Contemporary Seamanship, Maritime Social Infrastructures, And Mobility Politics Of Global Logistics, Liang Wu 2024 The Graduate Center, City University of New York

Containerization Of Seafarers In The International Shipping Industry: Contemporary Seamanship, Maritime Social Infrastructures, And Mobility Politics Of Global Logistics, Liang Wu

Dissertations, Theses, and Capstone Projects

This dissertation discusses the mobility politics of container shipping and argues that technological development, political-economic order, and social infrastructure co-produce one another. Containerization, the use of standardized containers to carry cargo across modes of transportation that is said to have revolutionized and globalized international trade since the late 1950s, has served to expand and extend the power of international coalitions of states and corporations to control the movements of commodities (shipments) and labor (seafarers). The advent and development of containerization was driven by a sociotechnical imaginary and international social contract of seamless shipping and cargo flows. In practice, this liberal, …

Development Of A High-Level Discrete Event Simulation Model For The Harvesting Of White Button Mushrooms With Human-Robot Collaboration (Hrc), Ava Recchia 2024 University of Windsor

Development Of A High-Level Discrete Event Simulation Model For The Harvesting Of White Button Mushrooms With Human-Robot Collaboration (Hrc), Ava Recchia

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Canada is a leading global mushroom producer, with the white button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) being the most popular type produced. Harvesting activities are labour-intensive, and farms are currently experiencing labour shortages, which are impacting productivity, growth, and overall revenue. Robotic technologies are valid mechanisms for mushroom harvesting and demonstrate a potential to reduce this gap. Examining the performance of a harvesting system with different robotics scenarios, such as manual, robotics automation, and human robot collaboration (HRC) is crucial to realizing this potential. Simulation models are useful tools for testing and assessing systems without making any physical change to the system. …

Applying Functional Data Analysis To Estimate The Mental Workload Of The Human Driver, David OLORUNFEMI Eniyandunmo 2024 University of Windsor

Applying Functional Data Analysis To Estimate The Mental Workload Of The Human Driver, David Olorunfemi Eniyandunmo

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Recent studies have focused on accurately estimating mental workload using machine learning algorithms and extracting features from psycho-physiological measures. However, feature extraction leads to the loss of valuable information and often results in binary classifications that lack specificity in the identification of optimum mental workload levels. This study investigates the feasibility of using raw psycho-physiological data (EEG, facial EMG, ECG, EDA, pupillometry) combined with Functional Data Analysis (FDA) to estimate mental workload of human drivers. A driving scenario with five tasks was employed, and subjective ratings were collected using the modified Bedford workload scale. Results demonstrate that the FDA applied …

Multi-Uav Collaborative Trajectory Planning Algorithm For Urban Ultra-Low-Altitude Air Transportation Scenario, Jie Cheng, Yuan Zheng, Chenglong Li, Bo Jiang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: The rapid development of the drone industry has promoted the opening of low-altitude, forming a wave of ultra-low-altitude air transportation in cities sweeping over the world. However, the existing trajectory planning algorithms do not consider the division method and operating rules of the ultra-low-altitude airspace. They are not suitable for the collaborative trajectory planning of multiple UAVs in the urban ultra-low-altitude air transportation scenario, which may restrict the development of the ultra-low-altitude air transportation industry. This paper explores a multi-UAV collaborative trajectory planning method for urban ultra-low-altitude air transportation scenario based on the airspace flight altitude layer architecture. Specifically, …

Action Recognition Model Of Directed Attention Based On Cosine Similarity, Chen Li, Ming He, Chen Dong, Wei Li

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Aiming at the lack of directionality of traditional dot product attention, this paper proposes a directed attention model (DAM) based on cosine similarity. To effectively represent the direction relationship between the spatial and temporal features of video frames, the paper defines the relationship function in the attention mechanism using the cosine similarity theory, which can remove the absolute value of the relationship between features. To reduce the computational burden of the attention mechanism, the operation is decomposed from two dimensions of time and space. The computational complexity is further optimized by combining linear attention operation. The experiment is divided …

The multiple information sources introduced by the proposed algorithm can expand the search direction and reduce the assimilation speed of the population in the algorithm. Second, the worst individual in each subgroup can learn the effective information in the …
