When creating an instructional document, you will end up with a detailed record that outlines a step-by-step process resulting from all the of your trials and knowledge you experienced during that undertaking. I found that I learned more about myself during this process than I did about the results of activity itself. I will no longer look at training resources the same. This simple document, which could range between one page to hundreds of pages is the result of someone’s experiences. What the document doesn’t tell you is that someone most likely spent hours of research, hundreds of actions, or …

Our team had not been given structure as to how issues were to be addressed and resolved. The leadership was under the impression that verbally communicating what they wanted for their standards would be sufficient. However, this allowed for more mistakes than was acceptable. Faced with many different issues from user provision, to user termination to basic issues with many different programs; I had to find a solution that would help alleviate the excess of mistakes. The creation of documentation that would provide a stable infrastructure and policy to follow for technicians appeared to be a great way to resolve …

Language plays an essential role in achieving objective news stories in journalism. With the progress made over the last decades in the fields of media and telecommunications, news stories written in a given language are expected to be translated and presented for the audiences of other languages. It should be remembered that the translator has a significant role to play in observing the objectivity of the texts rendered from a cultural

Remote Working During The Pandemic: Mapw Graduates In The Workforce, Jordan Dollar
Master of Arts in Professional Writing Capstones
From early 2020 to 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic forced millions of employers across the globe to abruptly shift to virtual workspaces to both facilitate safe work environments and offset operational costs in a time of economic uncertainty. This sudden change accelerated the already growing trend of remote working in a rapid fashion and, for many, signaled the start of a new era of professional operations. As one could imagine, this also created a myriad of anxiety and stress for those workers unprepared for the change. Existing research suggests that this change was especially impactful for Generation Z and Generation Y …

While various forms of smart home technology have been available for decades, they have yet to achieve widespread adoption. Although they have risen in popularity during recent years, the general public continue to rate smart home devices as overly complex compared to their benefits. This article reports the results of an eight-month study into the effects of training on smart home technology adoption. Building upon the results of a previous study, and using the same living laboratory approach, we studied the effects of training on the attitudes of a group of residents toward use of smart home technology. Results show …

The Rhetorical Significance Of Women Deminers And Female Participation In Post-Conflict Operations, Brenna N. Matlock
Masters Theses, 2020-current
Across the globe, all female or mix-gender demining teams are working to eradicate landmines and other explosive remnants of war that threaten their communities. However, more generally, women are often absent from the various elements of security and peacekeeping that exists in post-conflict environments. The purpose of this research is to examine the rhetorical significance of women deminers and to analyze wider implications for female participation in post-conflict operations. Using a phenomenological, feminist, and transformative framework, I collected qualitative data from a range of public texts (or “artifacts”) written about women deminers and from online surveys distributed to women demining …
