This report documents the results of three separate but related projects—two cultural resources surveys and testing at one historic site. All three project areas are within the Elysian Viaduct project corridor just northeast of downtown Houston, Harris County, Texas. The work was undertaken as part of the Elysian Viaduct Bridge Replacement Project sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation, and Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted these archeological field investigations in 2014, 2015, and 2018. The Texas Historical Commission authorized these investigations under Texas Antiquities Permit Nos. 6985, 7329, and 7637.

On September 18 and 19, 2018, archeologists from aci consulting conducted an intensive pedestrian survey prior to construction of the Canyon West Water Supply Line in Travis and Burnet Counties, Texas. The project consists of the approximately 4.55-mile raw water transmission main from the existing South Central Water Company (SCWC) raw water storage tank located along Haynie Flat Road. The proposed alignment will be constructed within a 15-foot permanent easement and also utilize an additional 15-foot temporary construction easement during construction. Therefore, the APE of the proposed alignment is approximately 30 feet wide along the entire 4.55-mile length of the …

On April 13 and 14, 2020, aci consulting conducted a cultural resources survey for the proposed New Hope Drive in Williamson County, Texas. New Hope Drive would expand CR 272 between Ronald Reagan Boulevard and CR 175 in Cedar Park, Williamson County, Texas. The Area of Potential Effect (APE) for this project is approximately 1.76 (2.83 kilometers) miles in total length and includes approximately 0.62 (0.99 kilometer) mile of existing right of way (ROW) for CR 272. The project extends from the town of Buffalo to just west of the town of Jewett. Proposed improvements include the widening of the existing two-lane US 79 roadway to a four-lane divided highway.

In total, 372 acres of this property will be impacted. In a cultural resource evaluation dated September 5, 2019, AR Consultants, Inc. recommended the survey of four areas with high potential for encountering prehistoric and historic archaeology, totaling 105 acres. GSRC personnel conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of a 60.2-acre parcel for the construction, operation, and maintenance of a permanent U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) Central Processing Center (CPC) facility located in northeast El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. No previously recorded archaeological sites or previously conducted archaeological investigations were found to overlap with the 60.2-acre survey parcel. No aboveground/architectural historic properties were noted within the 1.6-kilomter (1-mile) search radius of the 60.2-acre survey parcel.
